Grand Hall Non-Responsive

It has been over two days since I sent Grand Hall the information they wanted to verify my warranty. So far, no response from them. This seems to be the normal operation since they ignored the Attorney General complaint completely. If anyone else has problems with Eternal Water Heaters and Grand Hall, it is time to get organized and take action against this company.

Id like to join any class action lawsuit in progress or even help in the effort of assembling a lawsuit. Grand Hall needs to go down.

We are also interested in joining the suit. One of our units completely failed after only 3 years. Covered under warranty, but no way to contact company. Contacted Canada Division and lady hung up on me twice and would not provide contact information for the “USA Division”. After researching, the company went out of business, moved to Canada and no longer honors existing warranties.

I have an Eternal that is 4 years old and has failed. Now I am told that because there are no parts on the market I will need to install a new heater at a cost of approx. $3000. I did some research on the company – Grand and Hall and the ultimate parent appears to be a publicly listed Taiwan based company; Full legal name is Grand Hall Enterprise Co., Ltd. (关中股份有限公司).

According to the BBB there are 37 registered complaints against them – 22 of which have not been answered. Refer link: http://www.bbb.org/dallas/business-reviews/manufacturers-and-producers/grand-hall-usa-in-garland-tx-50000474

The company website appears to be http://www.ghecl.com.tw/ and someone has taken the time to put together a likely history on Wikipedia : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Hall_Enterprise_Company

I have used the “feedback” feature of the website to send a message requesting warranty service for my Eternal but I don’t expect I will receive a reply.

If you are still interested in a class action law suit, I will participate.

Yes, we installed a Eternal Advanced Hybrid Water Heating GU 100 in 2014, which is still in warranty and extended warranty through the company who recommended it and install the unit. Last night we got an error message and no hot water, my husband unplugged it and turned it back on and now it is working, but I’m concerned and our extended warranty is only good for another year. We had the company that installed it come out this morning for a service call even though we got it to work. They told us about the company being no longer in business and not being able to get parts, actually the tech knew nothing about having to repair this unit, neither had he ever saw one, which had been their recommendation in 2014. What they offered is a replacement offer, but we would have to pay for the labor. I’m not happy with that offer because they recommended the unit, so I’m paying labor twice for an expensive unit.

    • The Eternal Warranty is worthless. Do not install another Eternal system. The company is out of business and there is no way to get any recourse at the moment. Before they closed their doors, they refused to respond to Attorney’s General complaints, they voided all warranties blaming the installer or customer for their flawed systems and left their suppliers out in the cold.
